Ukraine takes part in Fruit Logistica trade fair in Berlin
The Ukrainian Berries Association initiated and organized the participation of Ukrainian producers in this fair, Ukrinform reports.
"It wasn't easy, but we managed to do this. We continue to live and work despite all the difficulties and war in our country. We are present in the market and will have a harvest for export this year," said Iryna Kukhtina, the President of the Ukrainian Berries Association.
According to Kukhtina, Ukraine now needs support from partners: purchase of Ukrainian goods and thus providing the country with income, creation of jobs for people, especially internally displaced persons, and support for the Ukrainian economy.
Apart from the Association, the trade fair was also attended by 10 Ukrainian companies from all over the country that grow blueberries, cherries, organic vegetables, apples and pears, manufacture packages for fruits and vegetables, planting material, as well as logistics providers.
Ukraine's stand with #StandWithUkraine logo attracted considerable attention from European media and political circles. In particular, German Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture Cem Özdemir visited it.
This year, after a two-year "coronavirus" break, a total of about 2,000 exhibitors from 87 countries and regions took part in the exhibition.
Fruit Logistica is the world's leading trade fair of fresh fruit and berry products which represents the entire value chain for the fresh food industry from producer to sales.
