Electricity tariffs not to be raised for six months for 80% of consumers

That’s according to President Volodymyr Zelensky, who spoke in a video address to the nation on Saturday, Ukrinform reported citing his press service.

"We prolong for at least another six months the electricity tariff of UAH 1.44 per kW for those who consume below 250 kilowatts. This is 80% of our citizens," Zelensky said.

Commenting on Ukraine’s performance throughout the last heating season, the president said the season was “successful despite everything.”

"Despite all negative outlooks, tariffs haven’t increased. There were no rolling blackouts. Supplies weren’t disrupted even in wartime. Preparations have also begun for the next heating season,” the president said, adding that the issues of gas and coal purchases are already being discussed by authorities.

 As Ukrinform reported earlier, on October 1, 2021, regulations came into force, fixing the monthly electricity tariff for households consuming up to 250 kWh at UAH 1.44 per kW.
