Ukraine granted official status in ENTSO-E
"On April 26, an agreement was signed in Warsaw on granting Ukrenergo the status of an observer member of ENTSO-E, the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity," the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine informs.
It is noted that the official status will allow NPC Ukrenergo to join the international association of European transmission system operators. As an observer member, the Ukrainian operator will be able to participate in the meetings of the ENTSO-E’s Regional Group Continental Europe. The company representatives will be able to join the working and expert groups of ENTSO-E which deal with electricity market development, balancing, ancillary services, electronic data exchange, development of cyber security in the electricity sector, integration of renewable energy sources, and more.
According to Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko, the signing of this agreement brings Ukraine even closer to full integration into the European energy markets and determines further development.
As reported, Ukrenergo submitted a bid for observer status in ENTSO-E at the end of December 2021.
