The Ukrainian government, the Ukrainian Economy Ministry, leading experts and business associations are working on Ukraine’s economic recovery plan.
According to Svyrydenko, this plan will be based on the following principles: providing full access for Ukrainian producers to the EU and G7 markets; obtaining candidate status, and then full membership in the EU; building the economy on the principles of deregulation and liberalization; establishing logistic routes in the western direction to expand their capacity; switching from raw material exports to processing in the industries generating the highest export revenues; developing the domestic military-industrial complex via production, including through the transfer of military technologies, which should be a development driver for civil economic sectors; energy self-sufficiency through the increase in domestic natural gas production volumes and the development of nuclear power facilities; climatic modernization based on the principles of green economy; providing a local content of at least 60%.
“In order to implement large-scale projects, we need to develop partnership with G7 and EU countries in terms of technology transfer and access to financial resources. One of the key approaches could be guarantees provided by governments to their companies to invest in Ukraine,” Svyrydenko noted.
In her words, an important prerequisite for Ukraine’s successful economic recovery is the maximum restoration of Ukrainian transport and social infrastructure facilities within 24 months.
The Ukrainian government is already working to create conditions for the return of Ukrainian citizens, who have fled abroad but want to come back, Svyrydenko stressed.
