Thousand tonnes of sunflower seeds and oil destroyed in fire caused by Russians in Mariupol
The relevant statement was made by Advisor to Mariupol Mayor Petro Andriushchenko on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“[Russian] occupiers continue to destroy the remnants of agricultural products. After a trial attempt to restore power supply, a fire broke out at Satellite Plant, situated in Livobereahnyi District. […] Satellite Plant was specializing in the harvest and processing of sunflower seeds into oil. According to our sources, several thousand tonnes of sunflower seeds and processed sunflower oil were destroyed in fire,” Andriushchenko wrote.
In his words, Mariupol occupation authorities are trying to hide the true scale of losses from the Russian leadership, as these products were expected to be taken to Russia.
A reminder that the Russian armed aggression caused one of the worst humanitarian catastrophes in the city of Mariupol. Now the city is lying in ruins and has been left without normal electricity, water and gas supply services. About 22,000 civilians had been killed since the Russian invasion started.
