A dry cargo vessel has checked in the port of Berdiansk, the city in southern Ukraine, which has been temporarily captured by Russian invasion forces. Ukraine officials believe a batch of Ukrainian grains will be loaded onto the ship to be illegally exported out of the country.
That’s according to the Berdiansk City Council, Ukrinform reports.
"Most likely, our city will be deprived of the last remaining grain stocks," the statement reads.
Locals who saw the ship in the port say it was accompanied by four Russian warships. "Here she is, a ruscist ship that will steal the grain harvested by our farmers and agricultural firms," one of the comments says.
Earlier it was reported that every day, the occupiers take out from Melitopol 30 to 50 trucks loaded with grain. This year’s crop will either be seized or bought at dumped prices of $80 per tonne, the invaders warned local farmers.
