Government suggests creating Ukraine recovery offices in Kyiv, Washington, Brussels, London
“The Platform for Ukraine Recovery will consist of three levels. The first is the high level, where the leaders of the states will be represented. The second level is the Joint Coordination Group, which will comprise heads of executive power as well as decision-makers from Ukraine, the USA, the EU, Great Britain, Poland and other partner countries. The third level is the thematic groups by industries. Twenty-four groups of the National Council for the Recovery of Ukraine. Today and in the future, we invite everyone who has the experience and desire to make Ukraine better to join these groups," Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Lugano, the Government portal informs.
Moreover, the Head of the Government noted, Ukraine will initiate the establishment of an advisory group, which will include world-renowned European politicians, American and European economists: "These professionals will help not only to shape a strategy but also to demonstrate our level of openness."
The Prime Minister emphasized that the Ukraine Recovery Plan was drafted on the basis of key principles – end-to-end vectors – the observance of which will allow the country to effectively change and rebuild.
"The better recovery than it was before. Build back better. Our goal is not just to restore glass and concrete, but to build a new country," the Head of Government emphasized.
Therefore, the key principles are as follows: utmost possible safety of people and business, rule of law, European integration and compliance with EU candidate criteria, transparency and accountability in recovery, reconstruction of Ukraine with the utmost involvement of green technologies, digital tools during the recovery process and general digitalization, involvement of private capital in the reconstruction process.
As reported, the Ukraine Recovery Conference on the restoration of Ukraine after the military aggression of the Russian Federation is held in Lugano, Switzerland, on July 4-5.
On July 5, representatives of more than 40 countries and about 20 international organizations approved the Lugano Declaration as the outcome document of the Ukraine Recovery Conference URC2022 and pledged to support Ukraine.
According to the Government of Ukraine, the recovery program is already estimated at USD 750 billion.
