Ukraine to receive another $20 bln in aid from partners this year – PM Shmyhal

Ukraine will receive another $20 billion in aid and support from international partners this year.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this during the nationwide telethon on Ukrainian TV channels, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“Until the end of the year, we will get about $20 billion more in aid and support from our partners," Shmyhal said.

The Prime Minister noted that before the conference in Lugano, Ukraine signed agreements for a total sum of $26.7 billion, part of which has already come.

Shmyhal reminded that in monetary terms, the overall result achieved in Lugano was the agreements on $1.9 billion in aid for Ukraine. "That is, during this conference, we agreed on additional money on certain directions, such as agriculture, energy, etc. – for a total sum of [$]1.9 billion,” he said.

As reported, the Ukraine Recovery Conference was held in Lugano (Switzerland) on July 4-5.

On July 5, representatives of more than 40 countries and about 20 international organizations approved the Lugano Declaration and pledged to support Ukraine.

According to the Ukrainian government, the Ukraine recovery plan is already estimated at $750 billion.
