India resumes sunflower oil imports from Ukraine

The relevant statement was made by Bloomberg, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to Sandeep Bajoria, Chief Executive Officer of the Mumbai-based broker and trader Sunvin Group, India may receive 50,000 to 60,000 tons, as Ukraine is set to open some Black Sea corridors for agricultural exports.

Bajoria noted the cargoes would likely be loaded at the seaports of Odesa and Chornomorsk.

“We have started getting offers for August shipments, but it will all depend on availability of vessels. Ukraine has adequate supplies of oilseeds for crushing,” Bajoria said.

India’s imports of sunflower oil from Ukraine have been at a standstill since April, as Russia’s invasion of the country disrupted trade.

A reminder that over 20 million tonnes of grain intended for exports has been blocked at Ukrainian sea ports due to the Russian armed aggression.
