Germany to help Ukraine quickly receive EUR 8B assistance from EU – PM Shmyhal
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said in a Facebook post, Ukrinform reports.
“Germany will help Ukraine quickly receive the next EUR 8 billion of macro-financial assistance from the EU and will take the lead in this process. Federal Minister of Finance of Germany, Christian Lindner, assured during our online conversation,” Shmyhal wrote.
He added that Germany had provided significant financial assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
“We count on the strong support for Ukraine and in cooperation with international partners. In particular, Germany supports the process started by Ukraine on deferring debt payments and launching a new special IMF program,” Shmyhal stressed.
He thanked Germany for the comprehensive support and stressed that “he looks forward to the fruitful conference of the Group of Seven countries on Ukraine's restoration scheduled for October this year”.
