Five more ships carrying Ukrainian grain depart from Odesa ports
That’s according to the Ministry of Defense of Turkey, Ukrinform reported citing the ministry’s Twitter page.
"Five ships left Ukrainian ports with a cargo of corn and wheat, two of them from the port of Pivdennyi and three – from the port of Chornomorsk," the report says.
In addition, it is noted that today the Joint Coordination Center will inspect four ships that will be moving to the Ukrainian ports.
As reported, on the morning of August 16, the Brave Commander bulk carrier carrying 23,000 tonnes of wheat for Ethiopia, chartered by the UN World Food Program, departed from the Pivdennyi port.
As of August 15, as part of the implementation of the Initiative on the safe transportation of agricultural products, 16 ships have already departed from Ukrainian ports, exporting more than 475,000 tonnes of Ukrainian agricultural products.
On July 22, in Istanbul, Ukraine, Turkey, and UN Secretary General António Guterres signed the Initiative on the safe transportation of grain and food products from the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Pivdennyi.
