Ukraine’s National Bank buys almost $200M on interbank market over past week

The National Bank bought US$197.8 million and sold USD 122.43 million on the interbank foreign exchange market throughout the week.

That’s according to the NBU press service, Ukrinform reports.

As a result of forex interventions, from August 15 to 19, the NBU bought $197.8 million on the interbank currency market. At the same time, the regulator sold $122.43 million, the report reads.

In total, since the beginning of 2022, the National Bank has bought $3.074 billion and EUR 110.97 million, as well as sold $16.176 billion and EUR 1.789 billion.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, in 2021 the National Bank bought $3.691 billion and sold $1.276 billion at the interbank market. In 2020, the NBU bought $4.929 billion and sold $3.891 billion.
