PM Shmyhal, Japan’s Ambassador discuss post-war restoration of Ukraine

At a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Kuninori Matsuda, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal pointed out Japan’s active role in the restoration and continuation of fruitful bilateral relations after the end of the war unleashed by Russia.

"Japan is a reliable partner of Ukraine, and its comprehensive support helps us move towards victory. During the meeting with Ambassador Matsuda, I thanked the government and the people of Japan for consistently standing side by side with us. We discussed the active role of Japan in the restoration and continuation of fruitful relations between our states after the end of the war," Shmyhal posted on Telegram.

According to him, Ambassador Matsuda noted that Japan actively encouraged the private sector to join the reconstruction of Ukraine. "We will be happy to start public-private partnership projects with Japanese companies," the Prime Minister added.

The parties also considered the issue of financial support for Ukraine and the IAEA’s mission to the Zaporizhzhia NPP. "Japan highly appreciated Ukraine's efforts to organize this visit and supports its goals," Shmyhal added.
