Power supply restored in most settlements after yesterday's strikes - PM
That’s according to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, who reported the news on Telegram, as seen by Ukrinform.
"For the second day in a row, the terrorist state continues its massive attack on energy infrastructure facilities. Yesterday, 3,900 populated areas: cities, villages, and towns were cut off due to missile strikes. Now, energy workers and emergency teams have managed to restore power supplies in most regions. Light is back in 3,800 settlements," Shmyhal noted.
He added that power supply in the western regions of Ukraine had been stabilized and in Kharkiv region it was almost completely restored. Restoration works are ongoing to ensure power supply to the central regions and the city of Kyiv. The works are to be completed within a few days.
"But Russia does not stop in its attempts to destroy our energy infrastructure. According to the State Emergency Service, 33 strikes have already been recorded this day. The enemy continues to spend dozens of missiles costing hundreds of millions of dollars only to leave Ukrainians without electricity for a day or two," added Shmyhal.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on the morning of October 10, Russia carried out a massive missile attack on the entire territory of Ukraine: 84 cruise missiles and 24 drones were launched. As a result of the strikes, critical infrastructure objects were damaged, power supply and mobile communications were interrupted in some areas.
