The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Such a decision was taken unanimously by all governing member countries of the World Bank Group and the IMF. This happened for the first time in Ukraine’s 30-year membership in the World Bank and the IMF,” Marchenko wrote.
In his words, over the long period of membership in international financial organizations, Ukraine has established reliable and transparent partnership relations. Marchenko thanked his friends and partners for their trust.
“It is a great honor to represent Ukraine in the international financial arena,” Marchenko added.
According to Marchenko, the new status will increase the effectiveness of cooperation with international financial organizations and member countries of the World Bank and the IMF.
A reminder that Ukraine joined the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank in 1992.
This year, during the Annual Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank Group in Washington, Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko met with the leadership and representatives of the two financial institutions.
