“Over the past two days (October 31-November 1), Ukraine has sent six ships loaded with 136,000 tonnes of agricultural products to African countries via the ‘grain corridor’,” the report states.
Yesterday, one more vessel sailed towards Ethiopia as part of the UN World Food Programme, carrying 30,000 tonnes of wheat. According to the ministry, it is the seventh vessel to have been sent as part of this program.
In general, a total of 220,000 tonnes of Ukrainian-produced wheat was exported to the countries in need as part of the UN World Food Programme.
Fifteen vessels loaded with 486,000 tonnes of cargo have left the Ukrainian ports over the past two days. Ukraine continues to act as a global food security guarantor, the ministry stressed.
Over three months since the ‘grain corridor’ was opened, a total of 423 vessels loaded with 9.8 million tonnes of agricultural products (grain, oilseeds and derived products) have left Ukraine’s Odesa Port, Chornomorsk Port and Pivdennyi Port. A total of 2.9 million tonnes of Ukrainian-produced wheat was exported via the ‘grain corridor’, including 772,000 tonnes to African countries (26.86%).
