Government transfers UAH 12.7B to Naftogaz for gas purchase

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a decision to provide UAH 12.7 billion to Naftogaz of Ukraine for the purchase of gas.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"The government transferred UAH 12.7 billion to Naftogaz for the purchase of natural gas to Ukrainian gas storage facilities. Earlier, Ukraine received these funds from the Canadian government. At today's meeting, the procedure for using state budget funds for the purchase of gas in 2022-2023 was approved," Shmyhal said.
He also reported that this week Norway allocated about EUR 200 million to Ukraine for the purchase of gas. Prior to that, the EBRD agreed to provide EUR 300 million for these needs. Funds will also be provided to Naftogaz of Ukraine.
"This is a very important step in order to get through a difficult winter stably," the Prime Minister emphasized.
