Ukrenergo on Russian strikes on infrastructure: No reason to panic

Ukrinform
There is no reason to panic in connection with Russia’s missile attack on Ukraine’s infrastructure on Wednesday, November 23.

The press service of Ukraine’s state energy company Ukrenergo said this in a statement on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"There is no reason to panic. Ukrenergo has clear plans and protocols in place that are already being followed. First of all, power will be restored to critical infrastructure – water and heating utility companies, hospitals, railway stations, etc. In some regions, they are already being supplied with power," the report said.

The company said that dispatchers and engineers were working to restore power in the affected regions using reserve schemes: "Ukrenergo’s repair crews are assessing the scale of damage and starting repairs wherever possible."

The company also explained why Moldova also felt the consequences of Russia's missile attack on Ukraine. "Due to the Russian attacks, there was a frequency jump in our technically common energy network, which caused the loss of Moldova's connection with the European electricity network, from where the country receives a share of its electricity. Ukraine, in turn, has not exported electricity to any country since October 11," the post said.

On November 23, Russia launched another terrorist attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia fired 70 missiles, and 51 of them were shot down. Strikes on energy infrastructure caused emergency power outages in all regions of Ukraine.
