Ukraine's National Nuclear Energy Generating Company Energoatom denied information about the alleged shutdown of Ukrainian nuclear power units and stated that all of them are operating at the highest available capacity.
"Some mass media spread false information about the alleged shutdown of Ukrainian nuclear power units. We inform you that today, as before, all 9 power units of domestic nuclear power plants located on the territory controlled by Ukraine are operating at the highest available capacity," the company wrote on Telegram.
As reported by Ukrinform, as of December 28, a shortage of electricity in Ukraine’s power system has increased. This is due to the shutdown of some units of power plants over the Russian shelling of gas infrastructure in the eastern region.
