Zelensky signs off law allowing duty-free imports of UAVs
This is reported by Ukrinform with reference to the parliament’s website.
The documents establish that temporarily, for the period of martial law in Ukraine, but no longer than until January 1, 2024, import duties and value-added tax on the imports of UAVs, optical, collimator, and night sights, thermal binoculars, monoculars, and night vision devices into the customs territory of Ukraine shall be exempted from taxation.
At the same time, the specified exemptions shall not be applied to goods originating from a country recognized as an occupier state and/or aggressor state, and imported from the territory of the occupier state or from the occupied territory of Ukraine.
As reported, in 2023 the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine plans to increase procurement of UAVs for the Armed Forces, allocating about UAH 20 billion to this end.
