In Zhytomyr, the first phase of the waste processing plant started operating.
"We did not announce the opening of the plant, did not cut ribbons, and did not draw attention to this during the war. The first phase of the plant is already working. Today, the depth of processing is approximately 40-45%," Zhytomyr Mayor Serhiy Sukhomlyn said at a session of the Zhytomyr City Council, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
The mayor added that the specialists from Croatia would arrive soon to launch the second phase of the plant. Thanks to this, the depth of waste processing will reach 80-85%.
As reported, it was planned to build a modern waste processing plant in Zhytomyr with a capacity of 85,000 tonnes per year and two sorting and composting phases by 2022.
