Ukraine, Spain to cooperate in green investment sector

"The Ministry of Environmental Protection is interested in joining the work within the Sevilla process. After all, becoming a part of the Sevilla process means exchanging experience and best practices in implementing EU directive 75, studying the procedures for drafting Best Available Techniques (BAT) and implementing an integrated environmental permit. In fact, our team has already started this process, so far at the level of a trainee," said Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Ruslan Strilets.
It is noted that at a meeting on March 2, Strilets and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Ukraine Ricardo López-Aranda Jagu discussed cooperation in the field of development of "green" investments and the involvement of Ukraine in the work within the Sevilla process.
In particular, Ukraine's participation in the Sevilla process will make a significant step towards the development of a high-quality industrial pollution policy and encourage business entities to implement the best available techniques and management methods.
As reported, Germany is ready to help Ukraine in preparing for the next Climate Change Conference COP28 and to start relevant consultations right now.
The Sevilla Process is designed to agree upon what constitutes the Best Available Techniques (BAT) for pollution prevention and control.
