Ukraine's trade turnover down 30% this year - State Customs Service

Ukraine's trade turnover amounted to $16.6 billion in January-February 2023, or 30% less than in the same period of 2022.

That's according to the press service of the Ukrainian State Customs Service, Ukrinform reports.

"During January-February of the current year, Ukraine imported $10.1 billion worth of goods and exported them for $6.5 billion. At the same time, taxed imports amounted to $8.1 billion, which is 80% of the total volume of imported goods," the report said.

The State Customs Service noted that the tax burden on one kilogram of taxed imports for the specified period amounted to $0.44 per kilogram, which was 53% more than in January-February 2022.

In the first two months of 2023, Ukraine mostly imported goods from China — $1.7 billion, Poland — $1 billion, and Turkey — $760 million.

Over the period, goods from Ukraine were mostly exported to Poland — $953 million, Romania — $609 million, and China — $605 million.

Ukraine's trade turnover in 2022 reached $99.7 billion. Last year, Ukraine imported goods for $55.5 billion and exported goods for $44.2 billion.
