Nemchinov discusses Ukraine’s restoration with Latvian government members
Nemchinov noted that today, more than ever, Ukraine needed the support of international partners, in particular financial, in the framework of the preparation and implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects for the restoration of the transport system.
"That is why we are interested in the development of bilateral transport and logistics cooperation... We thank Latvia for its support in extending the EU–Ukraine agreement on motor freight transportation which at a critical moment prevented the termination of trade between countries and also allowed to provide Ukraine and the world with everything necessary, which is so important in the conditions of the Russian war in Ukraine," Nemchinov posted on Telegram.
The minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine also met with Minister for Climate and Energy of the Republic of Latvia Raimonds Čudars. The parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the energy companies of the two countries.
As noted, the government and state-owned energy companies of Latvia provided Ukraine with the necessary equipment in a timely manner amid Russia’s constant strikes on the energy infrastructure.
Nemchinov underscored that Ukraine was already planning the post-war reconstruction of the energy sector amid the ongoing war. In this context, our country relies on international support as the main goal is to gain the best global experience and apply innovations and know-how in domestic energy.
Ukraine is determined to expand cooperation in the field of cyber security of critical energy infrastructure facilities, Nemchinov noted.
According to him, Ukraine sees Latvia as a reliable partner for the implementation of all ambitious energy efficiency and climate goals and hopes for the further implementation of joint successful projects to ensure the sustainable development of both countries.
