FAO plans to support 4,600 Ukrainian farms amid spring sowing
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Ukrinform saw.
"In total, FAO plans to support 4,600 of the most vulnerable farms and other agricultural producers during the 2023 spring sowing campaign. Each beneficiary can receive enough corn or sunflower seeds to cultivate 10 hectares of land," the report reads.
It is noted that the State Agrarian Register (SAR) is collecting applications for obtaining corn and sunflower seeds from FAO until April 12. As of today, 2,500 agricultural producers from Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions have applied to participate in the program.
Entities, entrepreneurs, and other persons who own registered farmland with an area of 10 to 200 hectares may participate in the program. Assistance from FAO is free and irreversible.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on April 3, 2023, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) started to accept applications from agricultural producers from the frontline regions to obtain corn and sunflower seeds for this year's sowing campaign.
