PM Shmyhal: Restoration of Ukraine to become one of largest investment projects in Europe’s history
"The restoration of Ukraine will become one of the largest investment projects in the history of Europe. But now we have to focus on rapid reconstruction, the need for which the World Bank estimated at $14 billion. For us, the priority is to ensure people's access to basic social and humanitarian services," Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said at a ministerial roundtable discussion for support to Ukraine on the sidelines of the Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund.
According to him, Ukraine already has part of the funds for this and expects to attract more than half from partners in the first half of this year.
As reported, the Head of Government is on a working visit to Washington, D.C. (USA). He takes part in the Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund. Shmyhal also had meetings with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III and high-ranking American officials.
On April 11, Shmyhal paid a working visit to Canada and met with Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau and Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Finance of Canada Chrystia Freeland.
