The relevant statement was made by Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
On April 19, 2023, the delegation members from Poland’s Łódź Voivodeship and the Czech Republic’s Liberec Region visited the Vinnytsia Regional Boarding House for people with disabilities and the elderly.
“Polish and Czech partners assured us they would contribute to the implementation of the project. In cooperation with businesses, they will consider the possibility of providing power lifts and sending other necessary equipment to facilitate the work of the personnel,” the report states.
The fifth floor of the building was renovated thanks to financing from the regional budget and assistance from the international organization, Doctors Without Borders. Now, relevant works are underway on the fourth floor. Regional authorities are planning to withdraw from the Soviet-era obsolete approaches and transform the Vinnytsia Regional Boarding House for people with disabilities and the elderly into a place where people can keep active.
With the start of the Russian full-scale invasion, the Vinnytsia Regional Boarding House for people with disabilities received many civilians evacuated from different hot spots. Here, people with special needs are provided with proper care. The facility has three branches designed to accommodate 510 persons. At the moment, a total of 502 persons are staying there, including 257 recumbent patients.
