Over 150 Ukrainian companies partake in Rome Conference
That’s according to Hennadiy Chyzhykov, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, who spoke with Ukrinform after the Conference on Ukraine’s Restoration, held in Rome on April 26.
According to Chyzhikov, "not only did we hear some inspiring speeches, not only did we talk about what concerns us, but we also got to know each other: each company had five to seven business negotiations, some even signed business contracts," noted the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He recalled that the high-level event was initiated by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during her visit to Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelensky also delivered an inspiring address, while leading ministers and business associations took part in the plenary session. In addition to the session, there were thematic meetings devoted to infrastructure and logistics, pharmaceuticals and health care, issues related to industrial development, IT and others. Some proposals were worked out for each section, which are important for the development of bilateral relations, while business-to-business negotiations are taking place, noted the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He drew attention to the fact that Italy is a member of the G7, with enormous experience in transport; engineering, IT, renewables, etc.
"A message was sent to the Italians: where to go, with whom and how to work; that Ukraine is open, that they don’t need to wait for the end of the war, but to start moving toward estoring Ukraine," he said.
Chyzhykov praised the Italians for believing in Ukraine’s Victory and that this Victory will be on Ukraine's terms.
"They see future Ukraine also as a driver, including of the European economy," Chyzhykov emphasized.
As reported, the Ukrainian-Italian conference on the restoration of Ukraine held in Rome saw nearly a thousand attendees, in particular, the prime ministers of both states and several relevant ministers, representatives of international financial organizations, and others.
