Ukraine PM visits air defense manufacturer’s facility in Italy
That’s according to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
"Today, I visited the Italian defense company Rheinmetall Italia S.p.A., which specializes in the production of modern air defense systems. Among its projects is the Skynex short-range air defense system. We need such an effective weapon to protect Ukraine from the drones which Russia uses to attack us. This will save dozens of lives and infrastructure that is critical for millions of people," the head of government wrote on Telegram.
The head of the Ukrainian government emphasized that such batteries have already been deployed in Ukraine. At the same time, "the possibility of joint production of components of these systems" is being considered, he added.
"I thank our partners for their support! We are working to have more such effective air defense systems. They will create a reliable shield around our strategic infrastructure facilities," Shmyhal noted.
As Ukrinform reported, Shmyhal launched a visit to Italy, where he is participating in a bilateral conference on the restoration of Ukraine.
