IMF plans to review program for Ukraine in May
IMF Director of Strategic Communications Julie Kozack responded to an Ukrinform correspondent about this on Thursday.
The first review mission is expected at the end of May, the Fund's representative said.
She also clarified that the work of the Fund's representatives will focus on the fulfillment of Ukraine's political commitments and conditions under the EFF program. This will mainly concern the areas of fiscal policy, public administration, and exchange rate policy.
The revision will consider the latest economic and financial developments, as well as update the prospects and risks for the Ukrainian economy, Kozack stated.
She reminded that the IMF has a so-called baseline scenario for the development of events in Ukraine, as well as a negative scenario given the uncertainty associated with Russia's war of aggression.
As Ukrinform reported, on March 31, the IMF Executive Board approved a new EFF program for Ukraine in the amount of USD 15.6 billion for 48 months. At the first stage, the IMF has planned frequent reviews of its implementation, including two such reviews this year.
