Mondelez faces boycott in Scandinavia over presence in Russia

Over the past three days, SAS and Norwegian Air, the SJ railway group, the Strawberry hotel chain, the Elkjop retailer, Fjord Line, and the Norwegian Football Association have announced the cessation of sales of Mondelez products.
Norway's foreign ministry said on Monday it was ready to meet with companies boycotting the manufacturer while stopping short of offering any recommendations on the issue.
Companies and private individuals have to make their own decisions on what to buy and with whom to trade, according to Erling Rimestad, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway.
Although many Western companies sold their Russian assets after the Kremlin invaded Ukraine, some of them, including Mondelez, remained on the market.
The Scandinavian businesses said their decision to cease sales of Mondelez products was due to Ukraine putting the company on the "list of international sponsors of war.
Chicago-based Mondelez said it will not sell Russian-made products in Norway and will continue limited operations in Russia, halting investment and advertising, as well as condemning the war.
Among the most prominent brands owned by the company are Kraft, Oreo, Jacobs, Milka, and Trident.
