In lower reservoir of Dnipro HPP, hydraulic units operate with restrictions

Due to a sharp drop in the water level in the lower reservoir of the Dnipro HPP, the plant's hydraulic units are operating with restrictions.

Ukrhydroenergo reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Water level measurements at the Nikopol post by Ukrhydrometcenter specialists have been temporarily suspended due to siltation below the installed sensors. Ukrhydroenergo specialists, together with other organizations, continue to look for other ways to carry out measurements," the statement said.

Ukrhydroenergo also notes that due to a sharp drop in the water level in the lower reservoir of the Dnipro HPP, the plant's hydraulic units are operating with restrictions.

"HPPs continue to accumulate water in the upper reservoirs of the Dnipro. This is necessary for summer environmental water releases," the statement said.

To reduce the load on the power system and facilitate its balancing, users are urged to use electricity sparingly, especially in the evening.

As reported, at night on June 6, Russian troops blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, causing flooding of parts of the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions and at the same time critical shallow water of the Kakhovka reservoir.
