Norway sends 240 tonnes of equipment to Ukraine to restore energy sector

Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Energy Yaroslav Demchenkov stated this at a meeting with representatives of the Norwegian Embassy in Ukraine, Ukrinform reports, referring to the ministry’s press service.

It is noted that Demchenkov told the diplomats about the current situation in the energy sector and the measures taken to keep the stability of the power system after the Russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovka HPP.

The deputy minister thanked Norway for its support to the Ukrainian energy sector, in particular for the already received 26 shipments of humanitarian aid with a total weight of over 240 tonnes.

"Among the equipment provided to Ukraine by the Norwegian side are power generators, power transformers and current transformers, special equipment, as well as other items necessary for carrying out restoration works," the Ministry of Energy said.

As reported, Ukraine Energy Support Fund has so far collected more than EUR 219 million, including EUR 155 million already on the account.
