France to allocate additional €40M to Ukraine for reconstruction
"I am happy to inform that my ministry will be providing an additional 40 million euros in donations to Ukraine in 2023. This support will be used primarily for the emergency reconstruction of critical infrastructure, health equipment and, if needed, the necessary resilience in anticipation of the next winter," Catherine Colonna, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, said at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
According to Colonna, France prepares a multi-year civilian aid package to Ukraine which will include humanitarian, stabilization, economic, and financial support.
"I am pleased to add that the aid will mostly be comprised of grants so as to avoid increasing the pressure on Ukraine’s public finances," the minister noted.
The time will come when the war ends and Ukraine is a strong, sovereign, united, and democratic country, she stressed.
As reported, Ukraine Recovery Conference is taking place in London on June 21-22. The event is a continuation of the annual Ukraine reform conferences which have been held since 2017.
