Ukraine, Britain agree to jointly track grain stolen by invaders
"The parties discussed cooperation in tracking grain stolen from the occupied territories of Ukraine," the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reports.
This issue was considered at the meeting of Taras Vysotskyi, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, with Mark Spencer, UK’s Minister of State at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
It is noted that the possibility of monitoring the quality of the soils that were flooded following the Kakhovka HPP dam destruction and the assessment of the soils in the demined territories was also discussed.
Spencer expressed support for Ukrainian farmers and the people of Ukraine. In turn, Vysotskyi thanked his colleague for his help and cooperation.
As reported, according to the estimates of the Ukrainian Grain Association, about 4 million tonnes of grain have been stolen from the temporarily occupied territories since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.
