The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority’s Odesa Branch has received two skimmers from the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) to collect pollutants in the port waters of Ukraine.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to USPA Director Yurii Lytvyn, the specialized environmental protection equipment will allow the Odesa Branch to effectively eliminate the consequences of the emergency situation caused by Russia’s blowing up of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP).

In April 2023, the employees of the USPA’s Odesa Branch completed training on the use of skimmers and V-shaped pollutant collection systems.
