State borrowings to budget reach almost UAH 879.1B since year-start

Government borrowings to the state budget’s general fund came to UAH 879.1 billion in January-June 2023.

That’s according to the Finance Ministry’s press service, Ukrinform reports.

"Actual state borrowings to the state budget’s general fund in January-June 2023 amounted to UAH 879.1 billion, or 82.9% of the plan for this period," the report says.

From the placement of government bonds, UAH 285.7 billion was raised, including UAH 97.4 billion in foreign currency (USD 1,963.8 million and EUR 640.9 million), to finance the state budget. In addition, UAH 130.0 billion was attracted from the issuance of military government bonds (89.2% of the plan).

It is noted that payments for repayment of the state debt in January-June 2023 amounted to UAH 246.1 billion (96.6% of the plan), debt service payments came to UAH 116.8 billion (89.2% of the plan).

As reported by Ukrinform, state borrowings to the general fund of the state budget in 2022 amounted to UAH 1,261.1 billion.
