Isuzu Motors leaving Russian market - media

According to the interlocutors, the company sold its stake in the business to Russian automaker Sollers, which acquired the Isuzu plant that employs about 200 people.

Isuzu ceased production in Russia in March 2022 after Russian invasion of Ukraine interrupted the supply of spare parts.

This led the truck manufacturer to record a loss of 1.7 billion yen (USD 12 million) in the fiscal year that ended in March.

In November 2022, the company announced it was considering withdrawing from Russian market.

Isuzu's production in Russia, which began in 2008, accounted for only 1% of global commercial truck production before Russia's war.

According to the company's website, in 2021, the Russian unit produced about 3,700 vehicles.

As Ukrinform reported, the Japanese automobile brand Infiniti, owned by Nissan, has announced its withdrawal from Russian market.
