Shmyhal, JICA president discuss launch of public-private partnership projects
Denys Shmyhal said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is implementing in Ukraine an emergency recovery programme worth over USD 500 million. We are talking about projects in the field of transport, humanitarian demining, strengthening the energy system, restoring the agricultural sector, health care and education. We discussed today with the president of the agency, Akihiko Tanaka, Ukraine’s recovery and the launch of public-private partnership projects," the report says.
The Ukrainian prime minister thanked the Japanese government for its consistent support, including through JICA mechanisms, and the implementation of a joint project with Cambodia in the field of humanitarian demining.
"We expect to expand cooperation in this field, as well as in the field of supporting small and medium-sized enterprises," Shmyhal said.
The prime minister added that JICA intends to open an office in Kyiv.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) are implementing two phases of the Emergency Recovery Programme for Ukraine totalling more than USD 575 million.
