Ukraine, despite war, threshes over 2M t of grain - Shmyhal
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this at the government meeting, Ukrinform reports.
"In incredible conditions, our farmers have already carried out two successful sowings. Now we have begun the second harvest during Russia's full-scale war of aggression. Harvesting continues in 22 regions. Over 2 million tonnes of grain have already been threshed. The largest is in Mykolaiv and Odesa regions," Shmyhal said.
The head of the government thanked agricultural sector workers for their dedicated work and noted that this is important for Ukraine’s stability.
As Ukrinform reported, the Russian side on Monday sent Türkiye, Ukraine, and the UN its objections to the continuation of the grain agreement and de facto terminated its validity.
The last vessel within the scope of the UN-brokered agreement, which allows for the safe export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea, left the Odesa port on the morning of Sunday, July 16.
The Black Sea Grain Agreement was concluded in July 2022. For this purpose, two documents were signed: between the UN, Türkiye, and Ukraine, and separately between the UN, Türkiye, and Russia.
