Capital outflow from Russia reaches 13% of GDP - Yermak
The head of the Presidential Office (PO) of Ukraine Andriy Yermak announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"Capital outflows from Russia since the beginning of Russia's large-scale invasion have reached a record USD 253 billion," the head of the PO said.
According to his data, USD 239 billion left Russia in 2022, four times more than in 2021, and in the first half of 2023, the outflow amounted to an additional USD 27 billion.
"The rate of capital outflows reached 13% of GDP and broke all possible records," Yermak emphasized.
As Ukrinform reported, on July 20, the EU, the UK, the U.S., Canada, and other countries announced extension of sanctions against Russia and its supporters who help it circumvent restrictions.
