Int'l partners to provide Ukraine with $244M for demining - Svyrydenko
As Ukrinform reported, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko announced this on Facebook.
"Our donors, in particular the United States, the European Union, Japan, Germany, Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Denmark, Canada, Austria, Switzerland, Korea, and the Howard Buffett Foundation, will allocate over USD 244 million to Ukraine for the needs of humanitarian demining," Svyrydenko said.
She reminded that by the end of the year, Ukraine should receive equipment from foreign partners. These are 10 much-needed demining machines from the Croatian company DOK-ING, another 10 machines from Global Clearance Solutions. Almost 200 demining machines, over 600 metal detectors, 50 blasting machines, individual sets for demining, explosion-proof suits, quadcopters, and robotic systems for the disposal of ammunition are also expected.
As Ukrinform reported, over a third of the agricultural land designated for priority demining was surveyed in Ukraine. According to the State Emergency Service, since the beginning of Russia's large-scale military invasion on the territory of Ukraine, over 411,000 explosive objects, including more than 3,000 aerial bombs, have been defused.
