Ukraine harvests over 11M t of new grain crop
According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reported this.
Farmers have already threshed 8.063 million tonnes of wheat from 1.816 million hectares (yield, 44.4 c/ha), 2.881 million tonnes of barley from 730,800 hectares (yield, 39.4 c/ha), and 280,100 tonnes of peas from 113,300 hectares (yield, 24.7 c/ha).
Mykolaiv region is the leader in grain harvesting, with 414,800 hectares threshed. The largest harvest was in Odesa region, 1.808 million tonnes.
Agrarians in Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, and Ternopil regions have finished harvesting peas.
As of July 28, 2023, Ukraine continues harvesting winter rapeseed. It was harvested on 931,300 hectares, with 2.497 million tonnes of seeds harvested and a yield of 26.8 c/ha.
As Ukrinform reported, Ukrainian farmers started harvesting this year's crop on June 23.
The Ukrainian Grain Association predicts that in 2023 Ukraine will harvest 69 million tonnes of grains and oilseeds.
