Gas imports amount to 589M cubic meters in July - GTSOU

In July, Ukraine imported 589 million cubic meters of gas from the European Union and Moldova, almost all of which was stored in bonded warehouse and short-haul mode.

According to Ukrinform, Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) reported this.

"In July 2023, natural gas imports to Ukraine amounted to 589 million cubic meters, of which over 99% were stored in the bonded warehouse and short-haul mode. The main volumes were imported for storage in Ukraine by non-resident traders," the statement said.

In particular, 223.8 million cubic meters of natural gas were imported from Hungary (38% of total imports), 119.6 million cubic meters from Slovakia (20%), and 102.8 million cubic meters from Poland (18%). Moldova supplied 142.9 million cubic meters of gas in July (24%).

GTSOU emphasized that in July, gas injection in the customs warehouse and short-haul modes was the largest since Russia's full-scale invasion. In 2023, gas injection by non-residents began earlier than last year.

As reported, as of July 25, there were 11.7 billion cubic meters of gas in Ukrainian gas storage facilities.
