One of IAEA missions completes its work in Ukraine
That's according to the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
"On July 31, 2023, the SNRIU held a final meeting on the results of the IAEA mission to support and assist in the safety and security of ionizing radiation sources in Ukraine, which lasted from July 25, 2023," the statement said.
It is noted that such a mission took place in Ukraine for the first time. During the week of work, IAEA experts visited a number of Ukrainian enterprises, in particular, State Specialized Enterprise "Radon Association", the National Cancer Institute, the State Enterprise "UDVP Isotope", and the National Scientific Centre "Institute of Metrology".
It is reported that the IAEA representatives talked to the management and staff of the enterprises and were able to verify that all of these enterprises were affected by the war: from the risks and threats of shelling by the occupiers to the disruption of logistics chains.
Based on the results of the IAEA mission, a detailed technical report will be prepared, which will determine the technical assistance for each of the visited enterprises.
As reported, in July, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) successfully conducted an inspection at Khmelnytskyi NPP.
