Almost 23M tonnes of new crop harvested in Ukraine
“Farmers have already threshed 17.698 million tonnes of wheat from 3.83 million ha (yield - 46.2 centner/ha), 4.901 million tonnes of barley from 1.263 million ha (yield - 38.8 centner/ha), 361.2 thousand tonnes of peas from 146.6 thousand ha (yield - 24.6 centner/ha), 0.2 thousand tonnes of millet from 0.3 thousand ha (yield - 6.9 centner/ha), 0.1 thousand tonnes of buckwheat from 0.08 thousand ha (yield - 11.3 centner/ha),” the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reports.
Odesa region has the biggest harvest of 3.2 million tonnes, the farmers of this region have already completed the harvest of early grain and leguminous crops. Zaporozhzhia region farmers are also leaders in grain harvesting, they threshed 90% of the areas. Farmers from 13 regions finished harvesting peas.
Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson regions have started harvesting millet. Buckwheat harvesting is also underway in Dnipropetrovsk region.
Rapeseed harvesting continues in all regions. More than 3.702 million tonnes of rapeseed have been threshed on an area of more than 1.315 million ha with a yield of 28.1 centner/ha. As of August 11, seven regions finished harvesting rapeseed.
As reported, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine expects Ukrainian farmers to harvest up to 76.7 million tonnes of grain and oil crops in 2023.
