The work was completed in record time – within 76 days from the moment the plant was blown up. I am grateful to everyone involved in the project. The government initially allocated UAH 1.5 billion as a priority for the laying of three sections of water pipelines with a total length of more than 144 km. Today we are allocating additional UAH 7 billion to continues the works. We continue to work so that all residents of the affected cities have access to water by winter," said Shmyhal.
As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of June 6, Russian invaders blew up the dam of the Kakhovka HPP, causing large-scale flooding. A number of settlements in Kherson region were flooded. The territories of Mykolaiv region were also affected by flooding.
In Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions, the water level in the Dnipro River dropped following the Kakhovka HPP blast.
