Ukraine attracted almost $34B in external financing from its allies
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this at a government meeting on Friday, Ukrinform reports.
"Full and timely funding of social payments, teachers' and doctors' salaries would not have been possible without the support of our international partners. Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has attracted almost $34 billion in external financing from our allies. We received another almost $12 billion from the sale of military bonds," Shmyhal said.
According to him, the European Union has provided the most of the support to Ukraine this year — $14.6 billion.
"This week, the European Parliament supported the European Commission's initiative to create an EUR 50 billion Ukraine Fund. This is the Ukraine Facility programme intended for four years. We expect that next year within the framework of this program we will be able to receive EUR 18 billion,” Shmyhal emphasized.
As reported, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said that more than UAH 1 trillion had already been spent on the defense sector of Ukraine in 2023.
