PricewaterhouseCoopers to help Ukraine assess war-related environmental damage - minister
That’s according to Ukraine’s Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Ruslan Strilets, who spoke at the United for Justice. United for Nature forum.
"We have signed a number of important international agreements that will have a significant impact on the development of our relations and the protection and restoration of the environment. This is also today's memorandum of understanding with PricewaterhouseCoopers on supporting Ukraine in investigating and assessing environmental damage caused by the war," he said.
According to the minister, a declaration on territorial cooperation between Ukraine, Romania, and Moldova regarding integrated management of the Prut River basin was also signed during the forum. A memorandum on cooperation with Romanian counterparts in the environmental field, including the implementation of joint projects, was also concluded.
"Actually, the word 'unity' was constantly heard in this hall not by chance. It corresponds to the mission of the event. Only together, only united can the world survive. Only together we can offer effective mechanisms for addressing global challenges," emphasized Strelets.

United for Nature forum presented the project of the International Environmental Declaration. According to him, the document should legally establish the status of the Global Platform for the Assessment of Environmental Damages Due to Wars, announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky at SOR27. The initiative was reflected in Point 8 of the Ukrainian Peace Formula.
