DTEK Energo imports 40,000 tons of coal from Poland for heating season
This was reported by the company press service with reference to DTEK Energo CEO Ildar Saleiev, Ukrinform saw.
"As of today, DTEK Energo has already imported almost 40,000 tons of the total amount of 210,000 tons of coal intended for the heating season," the statement said.
According to Saleiev, the company is doing everything to provide thermal power plants across Ukraine with the required amount of fuel.
“Our miners produce coal 24/7 for the stable operation of thermal power plants throughout the heating season. Ukrainian coal is top priority for us and a UAH 7.4 billion, which we invest in our coal enterprises this year, proves this point,” CEO said.
In addition, the company imports coal so that "in the conditions of enemy shelling we could be ready to lend a helping hand to our colleagues if needed."
According to Saleiev, since late September, 625 additional rail cars of fuel have been delivered to DTEK Energo thermal power plants, which is over 38,000 tons.
In total, throughout the heating season, the company intends to import about 210,000 tons of fuel from Poland, DTEK Energo emphasized.
“Together with coal of our own production, additional batches of imported fuel will increase the reliability of thermal generation and the energy system in winter, which means light and heating in Ukrainian households. We continue our work,” Saleiev assured.
DTEK Energo plans to invest UAH 11 billion in the preparation of TPPs and mines for the heating season 2023/2024.
